How To Get Calm When Anxiety Hits.

1. Visualize a calm scene.

What scene makes you feel calm and safe? Is it walking along a path with green trees or a white sand beach?

2. Breathing techniques

Slowly inhale and exhale, and breathe in deeply for a few times.

3. Ask yourself if you are worried or safe.

You are returning to a calmer state by asking yourself questions like these.

4. Exercise

Even taking a walk with the dog at a set time can do wonders, but running or swimming helps to relax your body.

5. Confide in someone trustworthy.

The person might give you some good advice, or knowing you are heard can give you a calming vibe.

The 54321 technique is also one you can use. You count back from 5 to 1.

Name five things you can see.

4 things you can feel.

3 things you can hear.

2 things you can smell.

1 thing you can taste.
